SOME BARREN COUNTY SCHOOLS WERE PLACED ON LOCKDOWN TUESDAY AFTERNOON PDF Print
Tuesday, 27 August 2013 12:55

Barren County Schools were made aware through local law enforcement of a potentially threatening situation. As a result, Barren County High School, Trojan Academy, Barren County Middle School, Vocational School, and the College Street Campus were placed on lockdown. Local Law Enforcement was placed on campus as a precautionary measure. All other schools were alerted of the situation and asked to maintain students within their buildings.

Bo Matthews, Superintendent of Barren County Schools stated that this was not a threat against Barren County High School or one of the other schools but we were advised by local law enforcement to put our schools located on Trojan Trail on lock down.  At approximately 1:48 p.m. we were given the all clear by local law enforcement to resume our normal schedule.  I want to thank Sheriff Kent Keen and the Barren County Sheriff’s Department and Chief Guy Turcotte and the Glasgow Police Department for their assistance in resolving this situation.
