The Glasgow Fire Department responded around 8:30 Friday morning to a report of a fire at the JL French Plant at 400 American Avenue in Glasgow.  Upon arrival firefighters found a large volume of smoke coming from the building.  Entry was made into the side of the building and firefighters had the fire out in around 15 minutes.  It took about an hour to get the smoke out of the building.  Moments before the fire a loud sound of air was heard and a visible black cloud was seen and then the black cloud ignited.  All personnel successfully evacuated the plant.  There was some damage but no estimate of damage has been released at this time.  No injuries were reported and firefighters were on the scene for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
