Drexel Dawes Holloway, age 88, of the Sulphur Lick Community, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at home. He was a farmer and a son of the late Herod and Lillie Eaton Holloway.  He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ and an Army Veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Roberts Holloway; six sons, Terry Holloway of Lexington, Gaius Holloway of Summer Shade, Forrest Holloway of Tompkinsville, Derek (Janice) Holloway of Minnesota, Alan Holloway of Summer Shade and Lance Holloway of North Carolina; grandchildren, Tabitha Holloway, Courtney Green, Dusty Brown, Jacob Holloway, and Heidi Holloway; one sister, Ravenel Haile of Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Trudy Holloway; brothers, Walton and Elwin Holloway.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ with Bro. Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. at the church.
