Meeting in regular session last night the Glasgow Board of Education exhibited frustration about the number of incomplete items still left at Glasgow High School since the building was handed over to the district last year.  Board members discussed a 3 and ½ page punch list that has yet to be completed, containing such items as the unfinished columns on the front of the building, grass areas yet to be seeded.  But most of the discussion centered around the  security system that does not work correctly.  In fact when windows at the school were shout out recently, the camera system designed to capture such mischief did not operate and did not capture an image of the vehicle or license plate.  In all the board was scheduled to pay out 130,480 dollars in final payments to various vendors.  The board voted however to table all of the payments scheduled for approval last night until a meeting with Jeff Wells, Project Manager for Alliance and architect Sherman Carter and Barnhardt  representative Kevin Cheek could meet face to face and come to some resolution as to the remaining issues.

In other business last night the board took a first look at the working budget for next year and as expected the  district is beginning this coming year with less money than last year.  Finance office Sue Furlong went over the beginning balances, contingencies, grants and other particulars for the budget and while she acknowledged there were cuts, the were not as bad as it was first thought.

On a positive note, the board accepted a number of contributions to various programs at the school.
