The Barren County Ethics Board held a special called meeting this afternoon to address a complaint filed by Barren County Jailer Matt Mutter against Barren County Magistrate Dr. Chris Steward.  Mutter’s claim brings into question whether Steward was acting in his ‘offical capacity’ when he attended a retirement dinner for a former jail employee who has filed a lawsuit against the Barren County Jail and Jailer Matt Mutter.  Mutter admitted that Steward had done nothing illegal, but felt Steward could damage the defense of Barren County in the lawsuits:

After going into closed session, the board came back with the decision to dismiss the claim against Steward.
