WCLU news had the pleasure of visiting BCHS on Friday and meeting a very talented group of young percussionists.  Seven students from Dr. Crowder’s percussion class, all armed with drum sticks and carrying a bar stool, walked to the middle of the gym and began their performance.  Chris Blakley, John McGhee, David Lancaster, Tristan Froedge, Yan Garza, Cortney Crain and Matt Ervin performed ‘Stool Pigeons’ and here is a clip:

Speaking to these students, it is clear that they all have a heart for music and the drive and desire to work and practice.  Novelty pieces like this take several weeks of practice and these guys have it perfected.  Tristan Froedge, a BCHS senior, said he’s known for years he wanted to be a drummer:

After their performance faculty, teachers, administrators, visitors and students rose to their feet and cheered for this very talented group of young men.  .

 

 

Today is Gayle Berry Day!!!  Gayle is retiring July 31 from the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center.  A reception is being held today from 1-3.
