The entire student body assembled in the gymnasium of Glasgow High School Friday morning for an announcement.  None of the students knew what the announcement was about, but they soon found out as GHS Principal, Keith Hale, told them this…

Students at Glasgow High School finished in the 97th percentile on last year’s state testing, which measures achievement, career applicability, and college readiness among all 230 Kentucky High Schools.  Glasgow High School finished in the top 10 of the state, better known as “Schools of Distinction”.

Principal Hale told the students that under normal circumstances, he didn’t believe in the practice of rewarding the kids for doing what they’re supposed to do.  However, in this instance, Hale he isn’t against surprises.  There were as many balloons as there were students spread across the gymnasium floor.  Each Student was allowed to pick a balloon at random.  The balloons contained coupons inside them for various prizes such as candy, t-shirts, backpacks, $20, $50, and $100 bills, and even a few Ipods and Ipads.  Then it was only a matter of 3-2-1…as Hale lead the student body.
