KENTUCKY GEOGRAPHIC ALLIANCE RECEIVES GRANT PDF Print

The Kentucky Geographic Alliance, housed at Western Kentucky University, has received a grant of $34,500 from the National Geographic Education Foundation.  These yearly grant funds have been used to design over 100 Kentucky maps and a soon to be published Kentucky Atlas for 4th-8th grade students.  The Kentucky Geographic Alliance has long advocated and supported geographic education.

 

KGA Co-Coordinator Dr. S. Kay Gandy stresses the importance of Geography education in our interconnected world:

The Kentucky Geographic Alliance has been active in Kentucky since the 1980’s.  Dr. Gandy, along with Co-Coordinator Scott Dobler, are excited about this alliance with National Geographic Education Foundation and are dedicated to strengthening geo-literacy in Kentucky.
