A Kentucky lawmaker is refunding his legislative pay from the August Special Session to redraw legislative district lines. State Representative Jim Wayne (D - Louisville) was paid $1454 for the week-long session and has returned that money to the state treasury.

Wayne says the legislature was irresponsible in not passing the revamped district lines in 2012 and 2013 and it is a personal choice of his to refund the taxpayer money he was paid for not getting the work done on time. The special session costs taxpayers about $65,000 a day.
