On Sunday just before 5 am  the Kentucky State

Police Post 3 Bowling Green, responded to the area of KY 1076 and Ernest Chaudoin

Road in Hart County in reference to a single vehicle injury collision.  According to

Trooper First Class Joel Huff, Jacobi A. Caven (23) of Hodgenville, KY, was

traveling south in a 1998 Ford Taurus when he exited the right side of the roadway.

Caven traveled through a yard and struck a utility pole while off the right side of

the roadway.  The vehicle then traveled down a steep embankment and overturned as it

came back onto the roadway.  The vehicle came to a final rest on its top in the

southbound lane facing west.  The passenger, Kaylin A. Mauller (21) of Rineyville,

KY, was injured during the collision and was transported by private means for a

medical evaluation.  The investigation revealed that the operator was under the

influence of drugs at the time of the collision.  Jacobi Caven was arrested and

transported to the Hart County Jail where he was lodged on the following charges:


Operation Motor Vehicle U/Influence Of Alcohol/Drugs ETC. .08 (Aggravating

Circumstances) 1st Offense, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Reckless Driving, Failure

Of None Owner To Maintain Required Insurance Security 1st Offense, Failure To Wear

Seat Belt, and Assault 2nd Degree.


Tfc. Huff was assisted during the investigation by the Magnolia Fire Department,

Larue County EMS, and Hart County Attorney Mike Nichols.
