STATE TROOPER INVOLVED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT PDF Print

On Tuesday at 1:39 pm, Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to US 31W and the intersection of Morris Duff Road regarding an injury collision.

Preliminary investigation has determined that Trooper Tomie Walters was facing south on US 31W at the intersection of Morris Duff Road on the right hand shoulder of the roadway.  Trooper Walters had just investigated a collision at that location.  Trooper Walters was making a U-Turn when he crossed into the path of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle operated by John Hoffman (58) of Bowling Green.  Mr. Hoffman and his passenger, Theresa Hoffman (56) were traveling North on US 31W when Mr. Hoffman struck the front right fender of Trooper Walters’ vehicle.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman were taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  Trooper Walters was not injured in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by Sergeant Jermaine Savage.  Sergeant Savage was assisted on scene by Detectives Mike May, Brad Stevenson, Chad Winn, Troopers Larry Davis and Brett Coomes.
