Today is a very big day for the Glasgow Fire Department as ten promotions are given and recruits Katan Parker and Justin Wells will graduate having made it through their 12 weeks of training.  Week one began with a full gear drill including gas masks, which ended with the recruits being mistaken for terrorists by area residents.  As the weeks progressed the physical demands became easier and their knowledge of fighting fire grew.  WCLU News was there when it took the Glasgow Fire Department 18 seconds from the sound of the siren until they were leaving the Beaver Trail Training Center to respond to a fire.

We asked Katan and Justin what advice they had for the next batch of new recruits:

The Promotion and Graduation Ceremony for the Glasgow Fire Department will be this afternoon at 4:00 PM in the Glasgow City Council Chambers. Congratulations to the Glasgow Fire Department for all their accomplishments and for all that you do for the residents of Glasgow.
