An American Hero, who calls Glasgow his home, was honored by a large group of citizens yesterday at Glasgow City Hall.  John Edwards Wood, who turns 93 tomorrow, was the honoree of a proclamation signed by Mayor Rhonda Trautman and Nancy Houchens on behalf of County Government and Cave City Mayor, Dwayne Hatcher, to make November 20th “John Wood Day” in Barren County.  Wood is well-known for being a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and later served his country in the Battle of Midway in June of 1942 with the Marines.
