WKU STUDENT GOVERNMENT'S "DINING WITH DECISION MAKERS" A SUCCESS PDF Print

Western Kentucky University’s Student Government Association held the 5th Annual “Dining With Decision Makers” dinner at the Augenstein Alumni Center on Bowling Green’s campus last night.  This event gives students the opportunity to meet with local, state, federal and university leaders in a setting that encourages conversations.  Students are able to ask questions and give their opinions to those who ultimately make the decisions regarding education in Kentucky.

SGA Executive Vice President Mark Reeves said that both on campus and off campus resources were tapped into, in order to get such a well respected group at this year’s dinner.  Reeves noted that all of his invitations were very well received and was pleased to see this much support.

Among those attending were WKU President Gary Ransdell, KY State Treasurer Todd Hollenbeck, KY State Senator Mike Wilson, Bowling City Commissioner Bill Waltrip, WKU Regent’s Dr. Phillip Bale and Dr. Melissa Dennison and KY State Representative Jodie Richards.

We spoke with Representative Richards and asked why he thought tonight’s event was so important:
