GLASGOW FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPOND TO FIRE AT DANA CORPORATION IN GLASGOW PDF Print

According to Glasgow Fire Chief Tony Atwood, on Thursday night at 8:00pm, the Glasgow Fire Dept. responded to Dana Corporation, on West Main Street in Glasgow, for a report of a fire in heat treat. Upon arrival firefighters found that there was a small fire in one of the machines in heat treat area. The fire was contained to the wall of the machine and was extinguished by firefighters. There was only minor damage to the machine and firefighters were on the scene 1 ½ hours. The fire was caused when the machine was being brought up to operating temperature and a small amount of material caught on fire in the wall of the machine. This was the second fire at this machine in the past two days the other fire on News Years day was caused by a leaking hydraulic line that caught fire on the other side of the machine and was out on arrival of firefighters. There were no injuries reported at either fire.
