'STATE OF THE CITY' AND 'STATE OF THE COUNTY' DISCUSSED AT THIS MORNING'S CHAMBER BREAKFAST PDF Print

The Glasgow Barren County Chamber held their quarterly breakfast this morning at the Glasgow Golf and Country Club.  WCLU’s Wes Royse, Chair of the Small Business Development Committee, led the program by presenting Joseph A. Wade with the Small Business of the Quarter Award.  As is tradition, next on the agenda is the ‘State of the City’ was presented by Glasgow Mayor Rhonda Trautman.  Business retention and business recruitment have been two things Mayor Trautman said the great quality of life in Glasgow is due to many great groups working together::

Mayor Trautman also noted that Glasgow’s medical community serves a population of nearly 200,000 people, educational opportunities include two award-winning public schools, a private school, and WKU-Glasgow and Glasgow Tech.  She also noted the great job done by each of our city departments.

 

Barren County Judge Executive Davie Greer was up next with the ‘State of the County’.  Greer sang the praises of the Drug Task force and Emergency Management, as well as the county road departments.  She highlighted the upgrades made to county parks, as well as the addition of a new voting precinct in Barren County.  Greer also announced that General recipts for 2013 minus the general expenses for 2013, left the county with a cash balance of 3,706,112.37.  Greer also had this message for the citizens of Barren County:
