HAMPTON WITHDRAWS AS CANDIDATE FOR 6TH DISTRICT MAGISTRATE PDF Print
Thursday, 30 January 2014 06:35

Just one day after the deadline, one candidate has already removed his name from the ballot in the 2014 election.  Billy Hampton had filed as a Democrat to face Charles Allen in the May Primary for the 6th Magisterial District in Barren County, but has since dropped out of the race, which leaves Allen running unopposed.  Mr. Allen has held this seat on the Fiscal Court in years past but was defeated by Magistrate Chris Steward in the 2010 Election.  Steward has filed to run for the office of Barren County Judge-Executive.  Amanda Sturgeon with the Barren County Clerk’s Office reminded WCLU News yesterday that Independent candidates still have the opportunity to file.  But, nonetheless, Charles Allen will run unopposed in the primary for District 6 Magistrate.
