Frances Jackson Grimsley, 81 of Glasgow, formerly of Tompkinsville, passed away at 7:30am Friday, January 31st, while in the company of family members at NHC Healthcare.

Frances was born in Tompkinsville on June 13, 1932 a daughter of the late Marie (Pruitt) and Tas Jackson. In 1947 she married James Edward Grimsley who preceded her in death.

She was a cook at the Tompkinsville Elementary School for 35 years and was a member of the Mt. Poland Baptist church.

Frances is survived by one daughter, Connie Walker and husband Roger of Glasgow, one son James Grimsley and wife Josie of Gordonsville, TN, one sister Jean Hunter of Tompkinsville, 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Ray Grimsley, one daughter, Sandra Pennington Kilmon, one brother, Maurice T. Jackson, and 3 sisters, Melene Goforth, Zora Thompson, and Alice Cain.

Funeral service at Yokely Trible Funeral Home in Tomkinsville at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 2nd, with Brother John Ford officiating.

Visitation Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 6:00am to 2:00pm at Yokely Trible Funeral Home.

 

Today is LARRY MARION Day.  He's turning 60!!!
