BARREN COUNTY GRAND JURY INDICTMENTS PDF Print

A recent session of the Barren County Grand Jury resulted in the following indictments:

Based on testimony in regard to events in mid June of last year, 53 year old Woodrow J. Short of Austin Tracy Road in Glasgow was indicted on five separate counts: OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILKE LICENSE REVOKED OR SUSPENDED FOR DUI 2ND OFFENSE, OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL 3RD OFFENSE, FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE, CARELESS DRIVING and POSSESSION OF AN OPEN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTAINER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE.

Events in late December of last year resulted in the indictment of four individuals. 22 year old Barry Clinton Martin of Hodgenville, 33 year old Eric Ray Sturgeon of Mammoth Cave Road in Cave City, 36 year old Carnessa Diane Hawkins Childress of Toohey Ridge Road in Cave City and 23 year old Dustin Tyler Vibbert of Bryant Road in Glasgow. All four have been charged with MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA and POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE. Additionally, Martin and Vibbert face charges of PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER 2ND DEGREE and Sturgeon faces PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER 1ST DEGREE; Martin faces charges of FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE (ON FOOT) 2ND DEGREE and POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 2ND DEGREE; Carpenter faces charges of RECKLESS DRIVING and FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE (MOTOR VEHICLE) 1ST DEGREE.

Based on testimony that he intentionally caused physical injury to another individual, 43 year old Ernest Wilson of Bonnieville was indicted on charges of ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE and PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER 2ND DEGREE.

Due to alleged events in early June of 2012, 48 year old James Gregory Huff of Louisville Road in Cave City was indicted on charges of POSSESSION OFA A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE and POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.

Remember that an indictment is an accusation only and all individuals should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
