Ben Bucher has announced his candidacy for Glasgow City Council.  Bucher released the following announcement:

“It is with pleasure that I announce my candidacy for Glasgow City Council.
I reached this decision after much thought and discussion with friends and
family.  I believe I can help Glasgow continue to be an exemplary town.
Glasgow's youth, my two daughters included, deserve ample opportunity for
success right here at home.
Glasgow faces challenges and opportunities.  Whatever the issue at hand,
whether it is the budget, pay rates for city employees, or possible sources
of sustainable energy, I will enter the discussion with an open mind.  A
council member must recognize the importance of listening to others.

I graduated from Glasgow High School in 1997.  After college I returned to
Glasgow to make my home.  Soon after, I married Rhea Borders.

Currently, I serve on the Ralph Bunche Center board of directors, and I
have been with my family's business, Square Deal Lumber Company, since
2004.  My community and business experience will help provide a fresh voice
for the citizens of Glasgow.

The thoughts and concerns of Glasgow residents are important to me and I
have the necessary time available to serve our community.  I look forward
to speaking with as many citizens as possible throughout the campaign.”
