A Glasgow man moves through three counties in an effort to evade Law Enforcement Officers.

Early this morning, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a 1998 Chevy Blazer, driven by 41 year old Anthony Watkins of Glasgow.  Barren County Deputies called the Warren County Sheriff’s Department to assist, when it was apparent the pursuit would continue into Warren County.

Warren County Deputies located Watkins on Louisville Road, where the pursuit led back into Barren County and then Allen County, ultimately ending just off Porter Pike in Warren County.  Kentucky State Police, also assisting in the pursuit, successfully deployed stop sticks in Watkins path.  Unable to avoid the stop sticks, Watkins vehicle came to a stop on McGinnis Road, just off Porter Pike due to deflated tires.

Anthony Watkins was taken into custody, without incident, and has been charged with SPEEDING 26MPH OVER SPEED LIMIT, FLEEING/EVADING POLICE 1ST DEGREE, 6 separate counts of WANTON ENDANGERMENT OF A POLICE OFFICER 1ST DEGREE, DUI, POSSESION OF OPEN CONTAINER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE, RECKLESS DRIVING, FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE and RESISTING ARREST.

Additionally Watkins was served three Barren County Grand Jury Indictments for:  CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2ND DEGREE, FLEEING/EVADING POLICE (MOTOR VEHICLE) and WANTON ENDANGERMENT  OF A POLICE OFFICER and FAILURE TO APPEAR.

Watkins was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.
