WCLU Sports Director, Joe Myers, with the call their as your 4th Region champion Glasgow Lady Scotties have punched their ticket to the Houchens Industries KHSAA Sweet 16 State Tournament with a Region Finals win over the Bowling Green Lady Purples yesterday at Allen County-Scottsville High School Gymnasium.  After jumping out to a 31 point lead in the first half, Head Coach Justin Stinson and the Lady Scotties held on for a 79-59 20 point victory.

This makes the 2nd time in three years the Lady Scotties have made it to the Sweet 16 at Diddle Arena on the WKU Campus in Bowling Green.  The Lady Scotties were led by sophomore Breanna Glover with a career high 34 points and 19 rebounds.  Joe Myers caught up with Breanna Glover after the game.

Scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds, Senior Shalika Smith tells WCLU Sports, her final season as a Scottie continues to be great.

And, scoring 17 points, Senior Emily Alexander turned in a huge performance in the win.  She was on the team that went to the sweet 16 two years ago and had this to say about the second go-around for this group.

Making the all tournament team for the Lady Scotties were Shalika Smith, Breanna Glover, and Elli Bartley.

Head Coach Justin Stinson says this was a milestone victory for the program.

The Lady Scotties will face Lexington-Lafayette from the 11th region with a record of 27-3 on Wednesday Night at 8:00pm. Coach Stinson says Lafayette will be big and talented.
