Hart County Sheriff, Boston Hensley, was notified Saturday that an abandoned 1986 Chevrolet truck owned by the Hart County Fiscal Court had been reported to the Louisville Metro Police Department at an underpass on Dixie Odell Road near the Autumn Lake Mobile Home Park in Louisville.  The Hart County Sheriff’s Department discovered the truck had been stolen from the Hart County Road Department on County Barn Road in Munfordville on Friday.  The investigation also revealed that an inmate from the Hart County Jail on work release to the Hart County Road Department had escaped on Friday.  David Bruner, 47 of Harrodsburg, currently has a warrant for ESCAPE 2nd DEGREE – IDENTIFY FACILITY.  The Hart County Jail notified the Kentucky State Police dispatch in Bowling Green of the escape, but neither the Hart County Sheriff’s Department nor local law enforcement were notified.  The Sheriff’s Department wasn’t made aware of the escape until after the discovery of the stolen truck.  It’s possible a deputy witnessed the truck in Munfordville around 3:30pm Friday, but at that time, they were completely unaware of any escape or theft.
