Stolen Gun from nearly 30 Years Ago Leads to GPD Arrest PDF Print

On Thursday the Office of Probation and Parole requested assistance from the Glasgow Police Department on Newman Street in Glasgow.  Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the resident 71 year old Mattie V. Tatham and were given permission to search the residence.  Officers located a handgun in a dresser drawer in Tathams bedroom.  After firearm was checked by dispatch, it was determined to have been stolen from California in the 1980’s.

Tatham said she had gotten the firearm from a relative a long time ago, who had moved here from California.

Tatham was arrested and has been charged with RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY (FIREARM) and POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON.  She was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
