BARREN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATE MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT PDF Print

On Sunday, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle accident on Mammoth Cave Road at approximately 2:40pm. James M. McCoy 36 of Franklin KY, was traveling south on his 1986 Honda motorcycle and was approaching the intersection of Old Mammoth Cave Road. As Mr. McCoy went to slow down, the brakes on the motorcycle locked up causing him to lose control. The bike slid down the roadway on its side for several feet before finally coming to a stop. Mr. McCoy was taken to TJ Samson Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The BCSO was assisted by the Cave City Fire Department and Barren Metcalfe EMS.
