Officer Barton with the Glasgow Police Department responded to Grandview Drive in Glasgow to investigate a report of a shoplifter.  The GPD was notified by individuals at Rite Aid in Glasgow on Thursday, that a female shoplifter had been picked up by a man driving a Black 2001 Mitsubishi car and gave Police the license plate number.  Officers had dispatch run the plate number and the address came back as Grandview Drive.  When Officers arrived at the residence, they noticed two individuals exiting the vehicle.  The driver, 33 year old Joshua James Morton of Glasgow, asked to use the restroom.  Officers searched him before, to ensure he did not shoplift anything from Rite Aid, and Officers found four bags of methamphetamine on his person.  Morton was arrested and charged with:  POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE, and TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE.
