BURGLARY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO DRUG ARREST IN METCALFE COUNTY PDF Print

On Wednesday July 23, 2014 The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department and Kentucky State Police responded to a complaint from Breeding Road on a Burglary Theft.  Metcalfe County Deputy Josh Neal responded to the residence. After speaking with the victims and found they had property gone the victims went to the neighbors to inquire if anyone had been seen at their residence. When the victim walked up to the neighbor’s residence she saw one of the missing items on the back deck of the house.

Based on the Victim’s statement Deputy Neal obtained a Search Warrant. While serving the Search Warrant Kentucky State Police and Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department found several of the reported stolen items at the property. During the search drugs, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered along with scales and baggies. The scales and baggies are items that would be used in trafficking drugs.

 

Chesaney Dile and Jason Smith of Edmonton were arrested at the scene and lodged in the Barren County Jail July 24th on the following charges:

 

Possession of Burglary Tools

 

Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offence (Methamphetamine)

 

Possession of Marijuana

 

Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess

 

Burglary, 3rd Degree

 

Wanton Endangerment – 1st Degree

 

Traffic in controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense – (less than 2 GMS Methamphetamine)
