Saturday night just before 9;30, KSP Post 3 received a report of an injury collision, involving a Greyhound bus and an SUV, which had occurred in the northbound lanes of I-65, near the 55 mile post.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Cynthia K. Blackwell (51) of Upton, KY, was operating a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, northbound in the right lane, when a Greyhound bus, operated by Phillip L. Coleman (63) of Nashville, TN, failed to see Blackwell's vehicle and merged into the right lane. Blackwell's vehicle was struck by the bus and traveled off the roadway and came to rest in a tree line.

Blackwell was transported to the Caverna Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Coleman and the 39 passengers aboard the Greyhound bus were not injured.

Trooper Wesley Medley is investigating this collision. He was assisted on scene by Trooper Jeremy Smith, Horse Cave Police Officer James Roberts, Horse Cave Fire Dept., and Hart County EMS.
