Grand Jury Indicts Several-Rape, Child Abuse, and Drug Charges Included PDF Print

A recent session of the Barren County Grand Jury has resulted in the following indictments:

 

Included on a single indictment were 31 year old Lester Matthew Poynter and 25 year old Misty A Keele both of Smiths Grove.  The indictment stems from events in late June of this year and both were indicted on charges of MARIJUANA CULTIVATION FIVE OR MORE PLANTS, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA and POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.  No bond amount was listed on the indictment and arraignment was set for the middle of this month.

 

Included on a single indictment were 25 year old James Aaron Mattingly of Loretta, Kentucky and 22 year old Danielle R. Goad of Glasgow.  Mattingly faces charges of CRIMINAL ABUSE 2ND DEGREE, CHILD 12 OR UNDER and PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER.  Goad faces one count of COMPLICITY TO CRIMINAL ABUSE 2ND DEGREE, CHILD 12 OR UNDER.  No bail amount was listed and arraignment was scheduled for mid September.

 

20 year old Derek Allen Riggs of Cave City was indicted on one count of ESCAPE 2ND DEGREE.  Bail amount was listed at $5000 cash or approved surety.

 

Indicted on one count of RAPE 3RD DEGREE and PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER 2ND DEGREE was 22 year old Jordan Ernest Clay Coates of Glasgow.  The indictment is a result of testimony in regard to events in mid February of this year.  Bail amount was listed at $9500 cash or approved surety.

 

29 year old Jay Dee Ochoa of Glasgow was indicted on two counts of THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION $500 OR MORE, BUT UNDER $10,000.  One count being an automobile.  Ochoa’s bond amount was set at $5000 cash or approved surety.

 

Remember, an indictment is an accusation only and all individuals should be considered as innocent until proven guilty.
