Governor Steve Beshear has appointed Roger Thomas as director of the Governor's Office of Legislative Services (GOLS). "Roger's experience and in-depth knowledge of legislative policies and structure are second to none," Gov. Beshear said. "As a former state representative, his commitment to the critical issues facing the Commonwealth and his understanding of the workings of the Kentucky General Assembly will be vital to ensure a successful 2015 session."

Thomas, who will retain his position as executive director of the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy, served as state representative for the 21st District from 1996 to 2004, and has worked for GOLS in previous sessions.

"I'm humbled by this appointment, and I'm proud to serve as a liaison between lawmakers and Gov. Beshear to continue his priorities in the final year of his administration," Thomas said, adding that he will continue his commitment to agriculture in his new role.

As executive director of Ag Policy, Thomas serves as CEO of the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board and executive director of the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation.
