February 1, 1990 – 50’s night at Glasgow High School when the Scotties host Adair County. Some 30 former players who played during the decade of the 50’s will be recognized.

February 5, 1990 – The new Parish Hall for St. Helen’s Catholic Church is almost complete.


February 7, 1990 – Proposed annexation will add 900 homes to the City of Glasgow.

February 11, 1990 – Golden wedding anniversaries are celebrated in February by Mr. and Mrs. Coy Parsons, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Peden, Mr. and Mrs. Omer Gentry, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nuckols, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Carder.


GEA Spelling Bee Winners are Jeremy Ferreira, First, Amy Landrum, Second and Jenny Kate Underwood, third.

February 19, 1990 – The American Cave Conservation Association gets a financial boost from the Mary and Barry Bingham, Sr. Fund with a $25,000 grant.


February 21, 1990 – George Raines and Ruth Henry are Valentine’s Day Royalty at Barren County Health Care Center.


February 22, 1990 – Steve Williams is the 600th member to join East Barren Volunteer Fire Department. He was presented his membership by Treasurer Hollis Thomas.
