The Austin Tracy SBDM will meet today at 2:30pm at the school.

Gerald Fisher, author of the acclaimed book "Guerilla Activity in Kentucky" will be the speaker this Thursday at 6PM at the Mary Wood Weldon Library for the Barren County Historical Society Meeting. Mr. Fisher will be sharing stories about Quantrill, Billy Magruder, Bill Marion, Bill Davison and Isaiah "Big Zay" Coulter and others who spent more time in this area.  He will possibly be attired in uniform and will bring non-working replicas of many of the weapons used. Fisher will have a book signing at 5:30 pm before the meeting. The public is invited; there is no charge.

Barren County Future Business Leaders of America Shoulder Sandwich Sale will be this Friday, May 29 from 10AM to 2PM at Houchens Southgate. There will be Shoulder Sandwich, Chips, Dessert and Drink for $6 or Hot Dog, Chips, Dessert and Drink for $4. All money raised goes to help Barren County FBLA members attend the National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Money is due upon time of pick-up and/or delivery. The BCHS Cheerleaders will be hosting the Trojan Cheer  5 K Electric Color Run , this Saturday, May 30 at 8PM. Registration will begin at 7:15PM. Race starts and ends at the Trojan Football Field. All participants are encouraged to show their colors! We will have glow in the dark body paint and other glow supplies with lots of beautiful color for sale as well! Caverna High School Advisory Council will meet on Monday, June 1 in the high school library at 5:30pm.

The American Red Cross will have a blood drive on Wednesday, June 3 from 11AM to 3PM at T. J. Samson Health Pavilion.

Glasgow Renaissance- Main Street 4th Annual Cruise In will be Saturday, June 6 from 12PM to 4PM on the Glasgow Public Square. Registration begins at 12noon at the Gazebo.  There is no entry fee but donations will be accepted to go toward a speaker system for the back parking lot.

The American Red Cross will have a blood drive Sunday, June 7 from 9AM to 2PM at Crossland Community.

Metcalfe County Community Education will offer a Drivers’ Education Course on Monday and Thursdays, June 8 through June 25 from 8am to 2pm at Metcalfe County High School.   The cost is $50 for in county and $100 for out of county. The Arts Guild of the Barrens will hold their 5th annual Arts in the Garden Gala on Thursday, June 11 from 6 to 8pm at the home of Drs. Sreejaya and Narasimba Reddy.  The address is 777 Country Club Road in Glasgow.  Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased at 212 On The Main or any AGB member.  For more information call 629-2789.

Star and Stripes Beauty Pageant will be July 3 at the Bonnieville Elementary School at 5pm. You may pre-register at 5pm. For more information call Joel Attebery at 270-528-6485. Concession will be available.

There will be a Global Fest Meeting every 4th Thursday of each month at the Bunch Center beginning at 5:30PM.  Everyone is invited. Volunteers are needed to plan new events for the festival.

Harvest of History 2015 will be September 18 and September 19.  Seven individuals from our local history will be portrayed.  Historic characters from an inventor, an athlete, an early newspaper owner will be portrayed to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Glasgow Daily times, a young wife and mother of the 1870’s, a WWI Soldier, an inspirational teacher and a tale of a natural disaster.
