September 2, 1990 – Grand opening of the new horse show ring at Buck Creek Sportsman Club will be held tomorrow.

September 4, 1990 – Jeff Sharp is appointed as Assistant County Attorney by Barren County Attorney Ben Rogers.

September 5, 1990 – Final payment is made and note is burned on the Barren County Courthouse.

September 7, 1990 – Holly Myers and Ben Asriel of Glasgow are two of the actors in the Horse Cave production of MacBeth.

Groundbreaking is held for the new Bonanza Restaurant on the Glasgow By Pass.

September 11, 1990 – Discussion is held by the Metcalfe County School Board concerning acquisition of property for a new High School.

September 12, 1990 – Barren County Board of Education approves a $600 pay increase for county teachers.

September 13, 1990 – Pappy’s Shell Food Mart opens in the former Parkway Shell location on 31 E South. Tom Griffin, owner and Carol Decker, Manager.

September 14, 1990 – Barren County teachers reject $600 raise and vote to continue negotiations.

September 17, 1990 – Wal Mart opens in the Barren River Plaza.

September 18, 1990 – Farm Bureau Variety Contest winners were Karen Dickson, Cindy Rowland, and Gina Barlow.
September 19, 1990 – Hunts Garage Sale opens at 801 E. Main Street.

September 21, 1990 – New Monroe County High School opens with an open house scheduled for Oct. 14th.

September 23, 1990 – Holly Coleman is crowned Homecoming Queen at Metcalfe County High School.

September 24, 1990 – Allen Bradshaw is honored by the Glasgow Shrine Club for his 88th birthday and 37 years as a member of the club.

September 25, 1990 – One of the oldest homes in Edmonton, which was built in 1914, burned. The home was located ¼ mile west of Edmonton on the Glasgow road.

September 26, 1990 – Glasgow High School Homecoming candidates are Julie Whiteside, Allison Gardner, Autumn Johnson, Carla Buford, Shea Stephens, Jamye Furlong, Heather Marion, Hul-Pi Lin, Devonna Edmunds, Amy Renfro, Lori Eaton and Misty Cary. (Autumm Johnson was crowned Queen)

September 27, 1990 – Michelle Johnson has been nominated as the Candidate for WKU Homecoming Queen from the WKU Glasgow campus.

September 30, 1990 – Caverna Football Homecoming Queen is Shandi Coates.
