Deputies with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office were called to a wreck around 11:40 p.m. Saturday night December 4, on Tompkinsville Road near the intersection of Hwy 820. Upon arrival deputies found the vehicle vacant. Shortly after dispatch received a 911 call from a residence on Tompkinsville Road of a forced entry. Deputies were informed and proceeded to the location. After the subject was challenged at the residence and confronted by the homeowner, he fled before deputies arrived. The homeowner told deputies the subject had forced entry into their home thru a window and was able to give authorities a description of the subject. Deputies continued to search the area for the subject, soon finding the Freedom Store had been burglarized. While searching the store, deputies found a man inside who appeared to be under the influence with a strong odor of alcohol. The man was identified as 38-year-old William P. Neurohr of Glasgow. Neurohr was then taken into custody without incident.
Deputy Bennett charged Neurohr with first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense (aggravated), possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited and operating on suspended or revoked operators license.
Neurohor was lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center.
