63 YEAR OLD RONALD WAYNE MCKINNIS  of Glasgow, was in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, based on his earlier guilty plea to KNOWINGLY ABUSING AN ADULT when he inflicted injury or sexual abuse which caused physical pain or injury, or mental injury.

This matter arose when an investigation by Sgt. Jimmy Phelps of the Glasgow Police Department showed that the defendant was seen, by nurses, inappropriately touching a female patient, under her clothing, while she was a resident at a local nursing home.

During the officer’s interview with McKinnis , he admitted the allegations were true and he  went on to state that he “shouldn’t have” and that he “knew better, but did it anyhow”.

Commonwealth Attorney Karen M. Davis stated that, after meeting with the victim’s daughter on numerous occasions, it was decided to offer the defendant a plea agreement of five (5) years, which the defendant ultimately accepted.

Circuit Court Judge Phil Patton sentenced the defendant to five (5) years in Barren Circuit Court on Monday

Commonwealth’s Attorney Davis noted that upon the defendant’s eventual release, he will be required to enroll in and complete sexual offender counseling and will not be allowed to enter nursing homes.
