Early Monday morning Glasgow Police arrested 48 year old Robert D. Bryant of North Race Street in Glasgow after Lt. Col. Duff observed Bryant driving on the yellow center line on Columbia Avenue.  

Duff attempted to stop the Bryant vehicle and Bryant pulled into a parking lot on the corner of Eastview Drive and Columbia Avenue. When Duff got out of his vehicle and began walking up to Mr. Bryant’s car, Bryant pulled out of the parking lot and drove to the church on the corner of Salmon Street and Eastview. 

When Officer Larry Martin arrived he observed an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger side floor board. Dispatch advised that Mr. Bryant’s license were suspended for DUI.  A strong odor of alcohol was detected and Bryant had slurred speech and was unable to stand on his on. Sobriety test were given and Bryant showed six signs on HGN.


Bryant was transported to the Barren County Correctional Center where he was charged with Careless Driving; Driving on a DUI Suspended License, 1st Offense; Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, 2nd Offense; Possession of an Open Alcohol Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle Prohibited and Possession of a License When Privileges are Revoked.
