SMITHS GROVE MAN ARRESTED FOR DRIVNG ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND OTHER CHARGES PDF Print

Officer Steele made an arrest Sunday morning around 2:30am on Highway 1297 after stopping a 2000 Toyota after his stationary radar clocked him going 55 in a 35 mph zone. 

After making contact with the driver, 33 year old Jason L. Lyons of Louisville Road, Smiths Grove, Lyons told the officer he did not have a driver’s license.  Dispatch confirmed his license to be suspended for a previous DUI charge.  A strong odor of alcohol was detected on him and Lyons admitted to drinking two beers earlier. 

Lyons was arrested and charged with Speeding, 10mph over limit; Driving on a Suspended License, 1st Offense and Operating a Mobile Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, 2nd offense.  Lyons was transported to the Barren County Correctional Center.
