The Barren County Fiscal Court met last night.  Among many things on the agenda was the report from the office of Jeff Sharp, County attorney.  His office will now be using the E-Warrant system.  This will lead to a lot more people being served the warrants, as Sharp explains

A police officer will be able to search a name under the E-Warrants system in one county and see that there is an outstanding warrant for that person in another county. Sharp said that even some police cruisers have printers in them and that officer would be able to serve that warrant then and there.

Now, as reported earlier on WCLU Local News, Barren County ranked 4th in the number of methamphetamine labs discovered.  Current Legislation in Frankfort is debating the Sudafed bill.  In his report, Barren County Sheriff, Chris Eaton, made the court aware that this issue may be brought down to the county level, and if so, he would work with the court to do work on developing a drug coalition.

Barren County Jailer Matt Mutter also brought some legislation to the attention of the court.  House Bill 463 would initiate an early release program where State Inmates would be sent from State Penitentiaries to County Facilities to finish out the last few months of their terms.  To clarify, Mutter explained that these are State Inmates being paid for by the State.

Dr. Chris Steward was optimistic in his report of the recent Economic Development Committee.  He said it was more of an educational meeting, but expressed his feelings for Dan Iaconni and the IDEA Board

Barren County Judge Executive Davie Greer also reported that she received several phone calls commending the efforts of Johnny Kinslow and the Road Department.  Kinslow reported that their had been a shortage of salt, but that some was delivered on Tuesday.  The road department has worked around the clock on several occasions this winter to maintain the safety of these roads.
