Northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near Glendale remain closed due an early morning accident at mile point 87.5, just south of Rhudes Creek Bridge.  Traffic is being re-routed off I65 North at Exit 86 (Glendale) onto KY222 east ¼ mile to US31-W 5 ¼ miles to rejoin the interstate at Exit 91 (Elizabethtown).  Southbound lanes are open at this time.

The detour route is also congested.  Stopped and slowly moving traffic should be expected.  Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.  Northbound Interstate 65 is expected to be closed 3+ hours.

Chris Jessie with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Elizabethtown office told WCLU News that motorists traveling Northbound should exit at the Bonnieville exit, if not earlier to avoid long delays.
