March 1, 1991 – AD – Opening March 1 – Beaver Creek Inn, Happy Valley Road across from the Airport – Owners Glen and Margery Henderson – The Feed Shed’s Family Style Dining.

March 3, 1991 – Yellow ribbons are being placed around Glasgow to show support for the 623rd who are in the Middle East.

Barren County Trojans win the 15th District Championship. Metcalfe County Hornets won the 16th.

March 5, 1991 – AD – Goodman Olds Cadillac Nissan has these Used Cars for sale – ’89 Nissan Pulsar -$9595, ’90 Chevy Lumina - $9995, ’88 Olds ‘98” for $10,995 and ’86 Cadillac Brougham for $8995.

March 6, 1991 – Craig Bitzer, Associate Minister at Glenview Christian Church literally kissed a pig Sunday morning. He promised to do so if the Senior High Class could raise $500 for the building fund. They did and he did!

March 10, 1991 – Pat Fant retired after 27 years at the Glasgow Water Company. Bro. Harold Renfro retired from Collier’s IGA after being a butcher for 40 years.

March 14, 1991 – Ben Moss and Brandy Bunch, students at E B Terry School collected the most money in the Easter Seal Society’s “Kentucky Wildcat Shootout”.

Dennis Wilcutt, Ellen Gentry, Minnis Williams and Gayle Morrison are promoted at South Central Bank.

March 17, 1991 – Glasgow’s Housing Authority has been selected as the “Housing Authority of the Year” by the US Department of Housing. John Collier is the Executive Director.

March 21, 1991 – A beautiful day in March allowed J. E. Denton, Ray France, George Logsdon and Joe Powell to sun on a bench in front of a store in downtown Park City.

March 22, 1991 – Park City 1st and 2nd graders presents “Three little piggy opera”. The cast included Amanda Smith, Matthew Hampton, Audumn Turner, and Heather Reynolds.

March 24, 1991 – Roxanne (Rocky) Beaty joins the staff at Margie’s Total Hair Care.

March 26, 1991 – The Metcalfe County School Board voted Monday to purchase 65.76 acres of land for a new high school. The site is the Donald F. Short farm and will cost $2,000 an acre totally $129,520.00.

March 27, 1991 – Ground is broken for 10 additional cabins and nine holes at the golf course at Barren River State Park.

Ribbon cutting is held for WCLU Radio in their new quarters on W. Main Street. (I realize this was not the date, but when it came out in paper)

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph shut down about 25 businesses along Cave City’s tourist strip.

March 29, 1991 – Johnny L Hines is named the new BCHS Trojan Football Coach.
