4th Region Tennis Tournament held at Bowling Green High School

Scottie boys Singles

Kole Wilkinson def McLean Shutt of Russellville in his first match by a score of 6-4, 6-1.  He played Matt Spillman of Barren Co. in a later match and lost 6-1, 6-1.

Pranav Santapuram advanced to the 2nd round with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jeet Parek of Franklin Simpson and will play Timothy Goodwin of Warren East in a Tuesday morning match with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon.

Scottie boys Doubles

Price Bell & Ethan Gibson advanced to 2nd round play with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Oakley/Tisdale of Russellville.  They will play South Warren's #1 doubles team of Jones/Breakfield Tuesday morning with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon.

The Scotties #2 doubles team of Cody Jones and Jackson Bell fell to the 5th seeded Warren East team of Bratcher & Callison 6-0, 6-0.

All boys matches today will be played at Bowling Green High School.

After the first day of Region 4 tennis action, several Lady Scottie tennis players are still in competition.  At 10 AM on Tuesday, the following players will play the 2nd round of the Region 4 tennis tournament: Chandra Taylor, MacLean Lessenberry, Gretchen Bishop, and Katelyn Baker.

Chandra Taylor vs. Erika Oliver (Allen County-Scottsville) 6-3, 6-0

MacLean Lessenberry vs. Mason Gregory ( Logan County) 6-0, 6-0

Doubles

Pooja Santapuram-Allexis Travis vs. Howard/Greer (Warren East) 2-6, 6-3, 2-6

Katelyn Baker-Gretchen Bishop vs. Brown/Brown (Logan County) Forfeit to Glasgow due to injury

The 2nd and 3rd rounds of the Region 4 tournament will be played on Tuesday starting at 10 AM.  The boys play at Bowling Green High School and the girls play at Kereiakes Park.  Come on out and watch some great high school tennis.
