Wednesday, 25 May 2011 08:30

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a telephone scam. The caller states your Edmonton State Bank debit card has been locked where you can not make any purchases, and in order for your card to be unlocked you have to release your credit card number to the caller. The number that has been appearing on potential victim’s caller id is 949-579-2000, however, the office wants to remind citizens that the number could be different.

If you receive this phone call DO NOT release any information that the caller may be requesting from you or do not call them and release any information. The Barren County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate this scam. If you have any questions about this you can contact the Barren County Sheriff’s Office at 651-2771.
