On Wednesday, May 25, Deputy Mark Jandt of the Metcalfe County Sheriff's Department received a call for an officer to respond to Fancher Road in Knob Lick. Upon arrival, Deputy Jandt found 36-year-old Billy Ray Fancher of Knob Lick in violation of an active Domestic Violence Order.

Fancher was arrested at approximately 8:00 pm and was lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center until he was later released.

This morning (May 26) at 2:00 am officers were again notified that a call had again come in from family members that Fancher was back at the residence and had barricaded himself inside the home. Deputy Allen Huffman was first on the scene and removed family members from the home, placing them in a neighbor's home.

Sheriff Rondal Shirley and Deputy Mark Jandt then arrived and began assisting Deputy Huffman in assessing the situation. The homeowner was then brought back to the scene and gave permission for officers to enter the residence. During the search, Fancher fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Fancher was apprehended and again arrested and lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center and charged with violation of a Kentucky DVO and fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot).
