MEMORIAL DAY TRAGEDY; TWO KILLED IN MOTORCYCLE WRECK IN BARREN COUNTY PDF Print

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle accident on Finney Road around 6:20 p.m. Monday evening, May 30. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found two victims critically injured.

Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle, a 2006 Yamaha, was northbound when for an unknown reason, it left the right side of the roadway and struck a fence line.

Passenger 34-year-old Natalie Nicole Mitchell, of Barren County, was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver, 47-year-old Reed Arvis Eden, also of Barren County, was transported by air ambulance to the University of Louisville Hospital where his injuries later proved fatal.

 

Deputy Kevin Wilson leads the investigation and was assisted by Deputies Aaron Bennett, Chris Wyatt and Adam Bow, Detective Rusty Anderson and Glasgow Police Captain Charlie Lowery.

 

The Haywood Volunteer Fire Department, Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services and Air Methods responded to the scene.
