Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary April unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, up slightly from March.
Kentucky’s leisure and hospitality sector showed the largest month-to-month increase in jobs, growing by 1,600. This sector includes arts, entertainment, recreation, accommodation, and food services. The construction sector, education and health services sector, as well as the financial activities and information sectors, also showed an increase in jobs.
The manufacturing sector showed a decline for April, as well as the trade, transportation, and utilities, along with government.
