The second-longest running invitational golf tournament in the state came to an end yesterday after an hour-long rain delay and a one-hole playoff, it was Chase Landrum, 2017 Glasgow High School graduate, winning the Follis Invitational at Glasgow Golf and Country Club.
After 36 holes, Landrum, set to play for the Hilltoppers at WKU this fall, was in a tie with former Hilltopper and Hilliard Lyons Representative, Bryan Baysinger. Landrum fired a 69 Sunday, following up a tournament-low 68 on Saturday. Baysinger, just the opposite…69 on Saturday and 68 on Sunday. After a one-hole playoff, Landrum took home the victory.
In the first flight, Chad Poland made up and 8-stroke deficit to defeat Roscoe Tarry who shot 68 on Saturday, but was 5-over, 76 on Sunday. Tarry and Poland also had inverted Saturday/Sunday scores with Poland shooting 76 on Saturday and 68 on Sunday. After a scorecard playoff, Poland was declared the winner, with Steely Harris just missing it by one stroke, shooting 71,74.
Also, in the 2nd flight, Colby White took first with a two-day total of 151, 2nd place was Greg Grider with 154, and Jim Berry in 3rd with 157.
