May 15, 1997 – Temple Hill’s Contract Post Office will open May 22 in Paul’s Minit Mart. The first stamps will be sold to Oline Driver, Margie White, Jonita Shive and Scott and Amanda Shive, four generation family living in Temple Hill.

May 22, 1997 – Ms. Senior Kentucky Pageant was held at Barren River State park. Imogene Dossey, Cave City won Ms. Congeniality and Evening Gown Competition. Martha Quigley was the Baby Picture Winner, and Josie Morgan, won Philosophy of Life Award.

Carpentry students in Kent Hood’s Barren County Vocational School recently completed a 10’ by 16’ building for Mammoth Cave Park to house equipment for the park’s air quality monitoring system. Bob Carson is the MCNP Air Quality Specialist.
