Jerry Wayne Hurt, 63, Summer Shade, KY, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020, at his residence. Born February 25, 1957 in Burkesville, KY, he was a son of the late Benton and Pauline Branham Hurt and the husband of Teresa Claywell Hurt, who survives.
He had worked at R R Donnelly’s for 34 years.
Survivors, others than his wife, include 3 daughters, Michelle (Adam) Gearlds, Etoile, Cassie Bragg, Glasgow and Amber (Robbie) Simpson, Tompkinsville; one son Josh Mitchell, Glasgow; one sister, Sue Cumbee, Summer Shade; three brothers, Jimmy Hurt, Glasgow, Billy (Ruth Ann) Hurt, Edmonton and Cecil Joe Davis, Edmonton; 11 grandchildren, Logan, Ashton, Mykalia, Chloe, Ryker, Shelby, Phoenix, Brayden, Xavier, Xander, and Xoey; and one great grandchild, Emmaline.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one brother, Bobby Hurt.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Summer Shade Cemetery with Bro Mark Parks officiating, burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2020, 2:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 after 7:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
