Mrs. Scarlett Ann Abernathy Myers, of Glasgow, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky having attained the age of 66 years and 8 months. She was born on Thursday. November 19, 1953 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri the daughter of Harold L. and Marian (Edmonds) Abernathy.
She was a member of The Burkesville Baptist Church, graduated class of 1971 Cumberland County High School, and received her nursing degree from Western Kentucky University in 1987.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Starr Abernathy White, Niece, Emily White, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Walter “Cranzy” and Elizabeth (Anderson) Myers.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton Hall “Cliff” Myers of Glasgow, Kentucky, her daughters, Sarah Jones (and Ryan Marshall) of Yorkville, Illinois, Haley (and Ryan) Perkins of Glasgow, Kentucky, six grandchildren, Taylor Greene (and Brandon) Boyens, Nolan Marshall, Tegan Marshall, Colin Marshall, Tatum Perkins and Teller Perkins, one nephew, Randy (and Laura) Abernathy and one great-nephew, Tanner Abernathy also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, with burial in the Burkesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday until the funeral hour on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, family requests a charity of your choice.
