FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has tested negative for COVID-19 in a precautionary move after he felt ill. His spokeswoman says the Democratic governor and his family tested negative.

Spokeswoman Crystal Staley said Tuesday that Beshear was feeling better but opted to give his coronavirus briefing by video rather than at a news conference. Earlier Tuesday, a separate news conference that was to feature Beshear and U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers was postponed. The governor’s office revealed that the governor and first lady Britainy Beshear were “not feeling well.”

The governor and the first lady have two children.
